Baltic 65 Wins at Copa del Rey
baltic 65

The Hall-rigged Baltic 65 Stig made its racing debut at the 2010 Copa del Rey Audi Mapfre sailed in Palma, Spain. Sailing in IRC A, the "mini-maxi" division, Stig finished first of the racer cruisers, just ahead of another Hall project, the Swan 60 Emma.

Stig is one of Baltic Yachts' marquee projects for 2010. Described as one of the most high-performance boats ever constructed at the Baltic yard, Stig is designed by Judel/Vrolijk with both racing and cruising in mind. The hull is carbon fiber and the deck is painted (no teak) to reduce weight and heeling moment. The Hall spars package features a high modulus Seamless mast with three sets of curved spreaders. A set of running backstays support the top mast and square-top mainsail. Headsails are fractional. Further optimizing performance is a full set of Hall SCR Airfoil Seamless Carbon Rigging. In addition to a significant reduction in windage (up to 50% over other rigging products) the stiffness of the carbon rigging contributes to the mast's performance. The Baltic 65 also features a full interior and a telescopic keel that retracts from a maximum 4.1m to 2.9m.

Look for Stig to compete in September at the Rolex Maxi Worlds in Porto Cervo.

Baltic 112 SCR Rigging, Mast Shipped to Finland

The high modulus Seamless mast and SCR rigging for the Baltic 112 is on its way to Baltic Yacht's new yard in Finland. Loaded on a ship in Breskens Harbor near the Hall factory, the mast will travel to Amsterdam where it will change ships for the journey across the North Sea to the Baltic Sea and the headquarters of Baltic Yachts.

Designed by Reichel Pugh Nauta, the Baltic 112 has a carbon-fiber hull and is designed for racing performance. The Hall four-spreader rig measures 48 meters and is set up with Hall SCR rigging on the side stays and backstay. The headsails will fly from a Reckmann furler. Both the mast and SCR are painted Oyster white. The Hall VBoom is fit with an integral carbon pole for lifting the dinghy. In addition, Hall supplied a complete running rigging package of high-performance line from Gottifredi Maffioli. The mast will be stepped and sea trials begun during the last two weeks in May.
