Hall Spars and the Nacra 17

By February 17, 2020Sailing, Events

A thrilling Nacra 17 Sailing World Championship came to an end this weekend, with the Brits taking gold after the final day of racing. The British duo, John Gimson and Anna Burnet, came out on top whilst two of the competing Australian teams jostled it out for second and third spot. Congratulations to the winners Team GBR and to all of the teams who took part!

Hall Spars is proud to have been the supplier to this fast-growing Olympic class since 2013, with each multihull featuring a Hall Spars carbon mast and carbon boom. In the first year of production, Hall Spars manufactured an impressive 320 Nacra 17 rigs for the circuit, helping the Nacra 17 garner a 2013 Catamaran Sailing News Boat of the Year Award. In addition, the ISAF and IOC elected to bring back the mixed multihull category for the Olympics, sending the Nacra 17 fleet to Rio in 2016 and the future Tokyo Olympics.

Hall Spars is delighted to continue work with this Olympic Class and we look forward to the next regatta!
