In partnership with Southern Wind, Hall Spars is proud to be the rig supplier of choice for the fourth yacht in the SW105 miniseries, due to launch this week in South Africa.
The rig was safely shipped from Hall Spars’ production facility in Holland and is now getting dressed to be stepped after the boat’s launch. Making use of Hall Spars’ worldwide service network there will be no Covid related delays in getting the rig stepped and commissioned.
The SW105 yacht derives from the collaboration between Southern Wind, Nauta Design and Farr Yacht Design and is designed as a high-performance cruiser with all the comforts of a modern superyacht. For this latest yacht, Hall Spars supplied a satin black 4-spreader carbon mast and Rack boom, to ensure sheer sailing pleasure on board, without compromising on the comfort, reliability or aesthetics.

This is the second SW105 to receive a Hall Spars rig, following in the footsteps of Power of Two, and construction has already begun for the rig supply to the SW105 #05, due to be delivered in early 2022.
Hall Spars has had a long working relationship with Southern Wind, with both companies embodying the same qualities of performance, cruising comfort, style and reliability. The rig supply to these SW105 yachts follows several other successful collaborations between the two companies.
Last year, Hall Spars supplied a 3-spreader custom carbon mast and truss wing racing boom to the new Reichel/Pugh-Nauta 100, Morgana, built by Southern Wind. The 100-foot custom sloop arrived recently in La Spezia, Italy, after a maiden voyage of more than 7,000 nautical miles on her keel from the southern tip of Africa to the Mediterranean.

The SW96 #03, Ammonite, delivered in Australia last year, was also supplied with a Hall Spars rig and has just enjoyed a summer of sailing. Meanwhile, the Hall Spars team has been busy building the rig for the SW100 #10, Fifty/fifty, which is now ready to leave for Italy to be stepped.
With the fourth SW105 due to launch in the coming days, the team looks forward to seeing another Hall Spars rigged Southern Wind yacht out on the water soon.
