About the project

Timeless elegance meets state-of-the-art carbon technology onboard fifth Truly Classic 128

Performance, family cruising, stunning classic aesthetics: carbon rig technology empowers it all.

Designed by Hoek Naval Architects and Built by SES Yachts, the fifth yacht in the Truly Classic 128 series has been delivered to her owner. Following Atalante, Vijonara, Grace III, and Halekai, Linnea Aurora embodies the essence of the Truly Classic 128 series – combining timeless, elegant aesthetics with cutting-edge technology and modern performance capabilities.

Classic Cruising

Beginning a life of family cruising, with some competitive racing, Linnea Aurora reflects classic charm from bow to stern, with graceful sheerline, decks, and elegant deckhouses that harken back to a golden age.

Life onboard is enhanced by weight savings – delivered by her trusted carbon rig from Hall Spars. Weight savings aloft mean reduced pitching and rolling, allowing guests to sit back and relax. The rig is also designed for convenience and ease of handling, for safe manoeuvres, even when sailing shorthanded.

The seamless finish produced by Hall’s painstaking mandrel-moulding process not only delivers smooth, aerodynamic sailing, but seek aesthetics as well. Delivering any custom finish, Hall Spars rigs can exude the modernity of a performance yacht or can be integrated into older models to appear original. You might never know the rig was crafted from advanced composites, until she begins to accelerate for racing.

Time To Race

Optimised for superyacht regattas, Linnea Aurora’s mast and boom were cured in Hall Spars’ aerospace-grade autoclave, delivering a flawlessly aerodynamic and weight optimised final product. Superior stiffness to weight ratio allows for precise sail control without adding unnecessary weight, optimising both speed and stability.

Linnea Aurora also features North Sails Helix structured luff technology, which reduces drag and heel while activating a proactive, positive sail shape that responds to changes in wind flow. The masthead sail plan can be arranged for cruising, with a yankee and staysail (the latter on a removable stay), or for racing, when the blade can be set using additional inner sheeting tracks. Runners take staysail loads and can also be used as checkstays for mast trim. The yacht’s sail plan and rig package are complemented by ECsix multistrand composite rigging from Future Fibres, both for performance and unwavering reliability, even in the harshest conditions.

Alex Runciman, Project Manager, Hall Spars:

Linnea Aurora is the perfect home for a Hall Spars rig. We’ve worked on Truly Classic 128s in years gone by, and it’s fantastic to deliver performance, reliability, and ease of use to another of the world’s most beautiful yachts. Having experts from our sister company, RigPro, in Tuzla to take the reins for the stepping was the icing on the cake.”
